Wound Healing Service
QUT Health Clinics - The Wound Healing Service is dedicated to improving quality of life for people in the community with chronic wounds. The service is operated by a Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse, Community Development Worker and a team of researchers.
Wounds may occur on any part of the body and some wounds take a long time to heal or reoccur on a regular basis. The significant pain and immobility of chronic wounds can interfere with a person's quality of life.
The Wound Healing Service provides comprehensive assessments, cost-effective and evidence-based wound treatments and interventions, strategies to help prevent wound recurrence and ongoing support and education to promote healthy living and wound improvement.
Wounds treated include:
- Leg ulcers
- Pressure ulcers
- Diabetic foot ulcers
- Leg swelling
- Eczema
- Dermatitis
- Non-healing surgical wounds
The service also aims to prevent wounds from occurring through early assessment and intervention.
No referral is necessary to attend the clinic.
