Do I need a referral?

No referral is necessary, except for exercise physiology services. However, referrals by health professionals are welcome and they may use our referral forms. We accept General Practitioner Management Plans and Team Care Arrangements.

What do I need to bring with me to my appointment?

Please consider bringing the following items to your appointment:

  • Letter of referral (if applicable)
  • Payment method
  • Medicare, HCC or PHF card
  • Relevant x-rays (Podiatry, Exercise Physiology)
  • Footwear (school shoes, sports shoes, orthotics – Podiatry)
  • Spectacles (Optometry).

Who can access the services?

QUT Health Clinics is open to the public and new patients are welcome.

Can I claim on Medicare or Private Health insurance?

Many of our services are provided by our students under the supervision of accredited clinicians and are therefore at very competitive prices. We aim to keep our fees lower than most people's health fund gap payment, and well under what you would expect to pay in private practice (please refer to the Appointments page for more information on fees).

As these services are provided by students they are not covered by Medicare or Private Health Insurance, however our Optometry Clinic offers HICAPS for spectacle and contact lens purchases and can immediately process your health fund claim.

Is car parking available?

Complimentary undercover parking is available for all appointments. Please give your vehicle registration to the reception desk. Vehicles that are not registered may result in a fine.

Entrance to the car park is via Blamey Street. Drive down the ramp underneath the building, past the delivery dock until you reach the boom gate. Drive through and turn right, continue up the ramp and park in a QUT designated space only.
